The $300 setup covers creating your Google Cloud account, the phone number, the script with business name, hours, transfer contacts and urgent rules, forwarding your existing number, and test calls.
Where it runs and who owns it
- It runs in a Google Cloud project your office owns on your Google billing account. Google bills you directly, about $40 a month for the server plus a few cents a minute of calls, separate from $175.
- No audio is stored, and the message is kept as text and emailed to your office right away.
- Every message goes to a person in your office, and the receptionist does not make decisions for you.
- If the receptionist is not answering, the phone system sends the call to a fallback number you choose, so a call never dead-ends.
- For a medical office, speech and language services run in your own Google Cloud project under Google's business associate agreement and we check you accept it in your console before the first call. The phone carrier we use, Twilio, signs a business associate agreement with us and we sign one with your office before setup. This is safeguards and paperwork, not a certification, and nobody can sell HIPAA compliance.
